I have an XP 14–0 36–2 30–02. Been having issues with the circuit board on the outdoor heat pump and right now it's flashing simultaneously looks like it's flashing fast which means it has an ambient sensor problem or it could be fashion slow and in normal operation mode. One thing I don't get is when I powered the outdoor unit down and power it back up it's going to go through it's five minutes anti-short cycle delay but I can use the test pens on P1 to bypass that and get the outdoor unit up and running turn the fan on etc. but it doesn't do that the contacts just click they get power so I don't know if I have low on Freon or what anybody have any ideas.
You can rule out reactions to the pressure switches by simply bypassing them for a short period for troubleshooting. Generally speaking, these switches will not cause fast cycling of the controls. If the contactor pulls in ok when you use the test pin, the contactor is likely good. Also, make sure the low voltage provided to the defrost/timer control is withing normal limits.
